This is a 100 year old Tawa floor.
It was covered in many layers of glue and old lino from the past.
To achieve the 'look' the owners wanted, the Tawa floor was sanded, stained and finished in a semi gloss.
Great food too.
Te Wharekura O Rakaumangamanga Gymnasium, Huntly.
A full re-sand was required here. Court markings were applied during the coating process.
A 4 coat Handly Industries solvent base urethane system was applied and finished in Gloss urethane.

This new build floor was sanded and coated in high gloss waterbase urethane.
The waterbase urethane kept the timber lighter in colour which suited the modern decor.

There is quite a process to create this stunning polished concrete look.
700 sq meters in this state of the art showroom in the Waikato.
This Tawa floor was very gappy. We filled the gaps with a two pack epoxy glue coloured with a black oxide. Not only did this make the floor very rigid but enhanced the lighter Tawa so as to give a nautical theme, similar to the deck on a yacht.
The floor was then finished in Magic Oil. (see insert)
